Croatia: survey, support for HDZ dropping, still first party

Almost 8 out 10 think Croatia is heading in the wrong direction

(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 09 APR - The support for the HDZ party of Prime minister Andrej Plenkovic is falling in Croatia, according to a Cro Demoskop survey, local media informed.

The monthly survey showed that the HDZ is supported by 26.8% of the electorate, on the basis of the answers of 1.300 respondents, a drop of more than 2% compared to the previous month. However, the HDZ is still the first party in the country.

The SDP, the biggest opposition party, is supported by 21.1%, according to survey, generally stable compared to the previous opinion poll. Stable also the 'Zivi zid' party (11.2%), while the 'Most' party (8.1%) registered a slight increase.

18.9% of the respondents said the "none in particular", among the current politicians, is their favourite. At the second place, the president Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, with 16.5%, followed by PM Plenkovic. 77% of respondents in the opinion poll said also that they think Croatia is heading in the wrong direction, while 15.2% support the political course.
