Juncker, it's crucial to offer Western Balkans EU prospect
'We are at risk of seeing new conflicts'

(ANSA) - BRUSSELS - ''It is crucial to offer Western Balkans
a clear European prospect, otherwise there is a strong risk that
in this complex region of Europe we can see again the terrible
events we have seen in the nineties, which I do not wish'', said
EC president Jean Claude Juncker during his visit to Sofia, due
to Bulgarian rotating presidency.
''We are happy with the Bulgarian presidency's attention to the Western Balkans'' said Juncker, mentioning the summit scheduled in Sofia for May 17, and explaining that he will travel to the region, but underlining, at the same time, that the accession of new countries to the EU will not be possible until the end of this Commission's term.
