Tirana, Italian cooperation supports administrative reform
Italy-UNDP agreement signed, $1.2mn
20 October, 10:06(ANSA) - TIRANA - The main objective of the agreeement signed yesterday in Tirana by the Italian Government and UNDP, United Nations Development Programme, is to strengthen the institutional and administrative capacity of the new municipalities in the implementation of reform and modernization of public services to Albanian citizens. The deal, which is worth $1.2mn, aims to reinforce the administrative and territorial reform in Albania.
''I am confident that the Italian contribution will be able to provide a significant opportunity to further join forces supporting Albania along its path towards European integration, and bring tangible benefits to the whole of Albanian society'', said Italian ambassador to Albania, Alberto Cutillo, who signed the new agreement on behalf of Italian government.
