(ANSA) - BELGRADE, OCT. 13 - Novi Sad, the capital city of Vojvodina in northern Serbia, was appointed in Brussels European Capital of Culture 2021, along with a the city of Timisoara (Romania) and a Greek city that will be chosen in November among Rhodes, Kalamata and Elefsina.
Novi Sad is the first city outside the EU to be appointed European Capital of Culture. Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic has expressed great satisfaction, speaking of ''an event of huge importance to Serbia''. (ANSA).
