(ANSA) - MILAN - ''Romania has the potential to become the
granary of Europe'', according to Italy's Deputy Minister for
Agriculture and Forestry, Andrea Olivero, who spoke on the
occasion of the National Day of Romania at Milan Expo 2015.
The president of the Romanian Chamber of Deputies, Valeriu
Zgonea, expressed the same wish.
''Italy is the second largest trading partner for Romania in
the EU after Germany - Olivero continued -; the trade exchange
between our countries reached 12 billion euro last year, 7% more
than in 2013''. The deputy minister then recalled that the
Romanians are the biggest foreign community in Italy. ''The
Romanian workers are well-known for their entrepreneurial spirit
and so - he underlined - they make a contribution to our
country's economic recovery''. (ANSA).
