(ANSA) - PALERMO, DECEMBER 2 - The work done by the
Sicily-China mission started in 2015 will continue next year as
well thanks to cooperation between the regional government, the
European Union, the Enterprise Europe Network (Confindustria
Sicilia, Consorzio Arca and Consorzio Catania Ricerche) and
Sprint Sicilia.
Expo Milano 2015 also provided an opportunity for new
contacts that in some cases have led to export contracts for
products and technologies.
A workshop in the Confindustria Sicilia headquarters in
Palermo was a chance to take stock of the situation. The
meeting, taken part in by regional productive activities
councillor Mariella Lo Bello, analyzed the collaboration with
China undertaken by the Sicily regional government and its
partners.
''Internationalization is indispensable,'' said Nino Salerno,
deputy chief of Confindustria Sicilia. ''The Chinese market can
surely give an important outlet. The missions have always given
good results. Many enterprises have gone to China and now we
must be good at going forward with the agreements. There is
growth in Sicilian exports in China.''
In 2015, seven incoming missions were conducted with 350
foreign operators who came to Sicily to sign agreements, 120 of
which were Chinese. (ANSA).
