(ANSA) - PALERMO, JULY 22 - The European Parliament's
fisheries committee (PECH) has made an official visit to the
Bio-Mediterranean Cluster at Expo Milano 2015.
The visit served to discuss prospects for the sector in terms
of harmozing Mediterranean area policies at the European level.
The 10-member delegation was led by Gabriel Mato and the
Italian MP Renata Briano.
Cluster chief Dario Cartabellotta said that ''we are aiming
for Mediterranean cooperation, given the strategic role played
by Sicily between Europe, Asia and Africa.
Sicilian fish and sweets were served to the guests.
''Beginning in the autumn, Sicily will be at the center of
our work and our decisions,'' Briano said. ''The parliament
liked the idea of having combined the Mediterranean into a
single cluster.'' (ANSA).
