(ANSA) - BRUSSELS - The EC has given the go-ahead to Adrion, new
transnational cooperation programme, key instrument in
supporting the strategy for the Adriatic-Ionian macro-region
(Eusair). This programme covers the territories of 13 Italian
regions (Sicily, Calabria, Basilicata, Apulia, Molise, Abruzzo,
Marche, Emilia Romagna, Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Trentino
Alto Adige, Lombardy and Umbria). Eusair involves four EU
countries (Greece, Croatia, Italy and Slovenia) with the
participation of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and
Serbia.
Adrion will rely on a budget of 118 million euros, of which over
83.4 million coming from the European Regional Development Fund
, and almost 16 million from EU pre-accession funding programme,
which is targeted at countries wanting to join the European
Union.(ANSA).
