(ANSA) - BELGRADE, AUGUST 5 - The Gazprom subsidiary Gazprom
Energoholding has installed two gas turbines at the Pancevo
gas-fired powerplant, in Serbia, local media reported. The
turbines were delivered from the Italian port of Genoa to the
Romanian harbor of Constanza and then transported on the Danube
to Serbia, Gazprom Energoholding has specified.
The choice of the gas turbines of Ansaldo was made to their
high efficiency and reliability, as well as experience of the
company in operating similar turbines in other power plants of
the Gazprom group, Gazprom Energoholding noted.
A total of 180 million euro will be invested in the
construction of the power plant in Pancevo, with the majority
of the funding by Gazprom, the specialized portal SeeNews
informed.
The project of the power plant in Pancevo "involves
construction of a cogeneration power station of combined
steam-and-gas cycle with simultaneous production of electrical
energy and process steam-type heat energy," reads the website of
the Serbian energy giant NIS, of which Gazprom is the majority
stakeholder. (ANSA).
