Prizes: Nonino 2018 to Ismail Kadare and Giorgio Agamben

(ANSA) - TRIESTE - Albanian poet and novelist Ismail Hadare is the winner of the 2018 edition of the Nonino international Prize, which has been promoted for the 43rd year in a row by the distillery of Percoto (Udine) , in order to celebrate important personalities in the field of culture, and is awarded by a jury presided over from the Nobel VS Naipaul.

The Nonino 2018 Prize to ''a master of our time'' was awarded to Italian philosopher Giorgio Agamben, creator of the concept of ''Homo Sacer'', a human being whose life is sacred.

The Nonino ''Risit d'Aur'' prize (Barbatella d'oro) was awarded this year goes to the international charity project ''P (our)'' founded in 2016 by Alex Kratena, Ryan Chetiyawardana, Jim Meehan, Simone Caporale , Monica Berg, Joerg Meyer and Xavier Padovani, whose goal is to create a global community of bartenders, sommeliers, brewers, distillers and wine producers who can stimulate and reinvent the beverage sector through new ideas, knowledge, inspirations, experiences, values.

The award ceremony will take place at the Nonino Distillery in Ronchi di Percoto (Udine) on January 27. (ANSA).
