(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JULY 31 - The industrial production in
Serbia decreased by 6.1% in June 2019 compared to the same month
of 2018 and by 2.5% compared to last year average, the Serbian
Statistical Office (Rzs) said today.
Year-on-year, the manufacturing sector recorded a decrease of
7.7% of the production, mining and quarrying a fall of 2.7%,
while the energy sector grew by 1.3% in June.
The industrial production negative performance deepened in
June from the -0.6% recorded in May, Erste Group Research said
in an instant comment released today. "Serbia's industry remains
in challenging position amid ongoing FCA drop in production,"
Erste added, noting however that "recent FDI inflows data show
Serbia's is still very much appealing as an investment
destination."
"We expect production to gradually pick-up" in the second
half of 2019, Erste Group Research forecasted. (ANSA).
