(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, MARCH 28 - There are 14 Italian-led
projects among the 74 projects which have been approved and will
be financed by Interreg Europe, the European Union's
cross-border program that assists regional and local governments
in implementing policies to favor citizens.
The projects were selected from 170 applications received on
the occasion of the fourth Interreg Europe call for bids, which
made available almost 212m euros. These projects were submitted
by 1,262 entities and organizations, out of which 157 from
Italy, the largest number among the countries participating in
Interreg Europe. Out of the 14 Italian-led projects, four focus
on 'research and innovation', three on 'SME competitiveness',
three on 'low-carbon economy', and four on 'environment and
resource efficiency'. Among the project-coordinators are: the
Municipality of Genoa (e-government services), the Autonomous
Province of Trento (dialogue for local growth), the Municipality
of Prato (SMEs and industry 4.0 industry), Empolese Valdelsa
Development Agency (SMEs and Industry 4.0), Municipality of
Florence (creative solutions for the development of SMEs), Iuav
University of Venice (exchange of information on environment and
renewable energy), Friuli Venezia Giulia Region (smart
specialization), Anci Toscana (governance of regional services)
, Municipality of Reggio Emilia (development of peri-urban
areas) and Lazio Region (circular economy) (ANSA).
