(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 17 SET - In the first eight months of
2020, EU demand for passenger cars contracted by 32.0%, with a
total of 6,123,852 new cars registered across the European
Union from January to August, almost 2.9 million less
year-on-year, the European Automobile Manufacturers Association
(ACEA) said today. Among EU most important markets, Spain saw
the biggest decline in new registrations (‐40.6%), followed by
Italy (‐38.9%), France (‐32.0%) and Germany (‐28.8%). In
Central- and Eastern Europe, Austria recorded a -33.3% in new
cars registrations, Bulgaria -37.6%, Croatia -47.4%, Czechia
-25.1%, Greece - 39.1%, Hungary -25.4%, Poland -31.6%, Romania
-37.5%, Slovakia -31.2%, and Slovenia - 25.5%. (ANSA).
