Czech Republic with the lowest unemployment in the EU
Several Central- and Eastern countries below European average
01 April, 17:02In February 2019, the EU statistical office said, the lowest share of people out of work was registered in Czechia (1.9% unemployment rate), followed by Germany (3.1%) and the Netherlands (3.4%). Rates below the EU average (6.5%) were recorded also in Hungary and Poland (both 3.5%), Romania (3.8%), Estonia (4.2%), Slovenia (4.4%), Bulgaria (4.7%), Austria (5.0%), Slovakia (5.8%) and Lithuania (6.1%).
The lowest youth unemployment rates were observed in Germany (5.6%), Czechia (6.0%) and the Netherlands (6.4%), Eurostat added. (ANSA).
