Serbia: mural dedicated to Darya Dugina unveiled in Belgrade

Belgrade maintains strong ties with Moscow

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, AUG 24 - Unknown people painted a mural depicting the assassinated daughter of Russian ideologue Alexander Dugin in central Belgrade, under a bridge over the Sava river, with a caption in Russian, according to regional television N1. Darya Dugina's mural was painted over a Russian flag with the words "death of a Russian girl who has gone to the sky in the August rains" written in Russian in red and blue on a white background with her name and birth and death years in black. Serbian nationalists frequently paint murals of people they regard as heroes, according to N1. Despite being a candidate country for EU membership, Serbia maintains strong political ties with Russia, and Belgrade refuses to implement sanctions against Russia. (ANSA).
