Bosnia: appeal process for Mladic begins in The Hague

In the first instance, the sentence had been life imprisonment

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 25 AGO - The appeal process against Ratko Mladic, the former military leader of the Bosnian Serbs who had been sentenced in 2017 in the first instance to life imprisonment for the genocide of Srebrenica, the siege of Sarajevo and other war crimes during the 1992-1995 armed conflict in Bosnia.

Serbian media reported that Mladic, who is 78 years old and in poor health, is in the courtroom wearing a protective mask in compliance with anti-covid regulations. (ANSA).
