Romania: new contract for Astaldi worth 356 million

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, MAY 12 - Astaldi Group signed a contract worth 356 million euro for the construction of more than 30 kilometres of the Sibiu-Pitesti motorway, in Romania, the company said in a statement today. The contract was signed in the presence of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Transport of the Romanian Government.

The planned duration of the works is 60 months, 12 months of which for design and 48 months for construction. The project will be financed partly with EU funds (85%) and partly from the state budget (15%).

Astaldi is present in Romania since decades, working in infrastructural development performing major strategic public works, including motorway network, railway links and airport projects. With the new contract, Astaldi's order backlog in Romania is now worth more than one billion, the company said.
