Hourly labour costs up in Baltic states, Romania, Hungary
Bulgaria still the 'cheapest' among European Union members
11 April, 16:49Labour costs rose by 2.7% in the EU and by 2.2% in the euro area between 2017 and 2018. Bulgaria remains the EU member country with the lowest hourly labour costs, followed by Romania, Lithuania, Hungary, Latvia, Poland, Croatia and Slovakia.
Labour costs consist of wages and salaries and non-wage costs, such as employers' social contributions. (ANSA).
