(ANSA) - PRISTINA, 16 FEB - Italy's president Sergio
Mattarella underlined the country's full support for Kosovo's
European integration process and the dialogue between Pristina
and Belgrade under the aegis of the EU. In a greetings message
to the interim Kosovar president Vjosa Osmani on the anniversary
of Kosovo's independence, Mattarella said that "Italy is
alongside Kosovo in the path of reforms and institutional
consolidation. We consider Pristina's integration into the
European institutions a step of primary importance to complete
the common European home's construction. With the same strong
conviction, we continue to support the EU-mediated dialogue
between Pristina and Belgrade."
President Mattarella, whose message was disseminated by the
Italian Embassy in Pristina, underlined at the same time the
"high intensity of the political dialogue and bilateral
cooperation between Italy and Kosovo, which in the last year has
recorded significant growth even in the context of the
challenges posed by the pandemic." Kosovo proclaimed its
independence from Serbia on February 17, 2008. (ANSA).
