Kosovo: Italian Major General Federici new KFOR commander
He took over from Major General Michele Risi
13 November, 17:53 (ANSA) - PRISTINA, 13 NOV - The NATO-led Kosovo Force (KFOR)
has a new Commander, the Italian Major General Franco Federici,
KFOR said in a statement today. Federici took over from Major
General Michele Risi at the end of his one-year operational
tour.
General Risi greeted his successor and thanked his 3,500 soldiers and all KFOR's partners that contributed to the mission's achievements.
"I couldn't be more proud of the enduring work of KFOR. Today, Kosovo is safer and more stable than when our mission began. I want to thank each of you for that remarkable achievement," said Admiral Robert P. Burke, Commander of NATO Joint Force Command Naples. (ANSA).
