(ANSA) - BERLIN, MAY 6- Hungarian premier Viktor Orban and his
party Fidesz will no longer support the candidate of the
European People's Party (EPP), Manfred Weber, running for the
head of the EU Commission. ''We are looking for a new
candidate'', Orban said at a joint press conference with
Austria's Vice-Chancellor Heinz-Christian Strache (FPOE),
according to APA. Orban explained that his stance changed when
Weber said he did not want to become president of the Commission
with the votes of the Hungarians. ''If someone offends a country
to this extent, the country's prime minister certainly cannot
support his candidacy'', Orban said. Fidesz was recently
suspended by the EPP. (ANSA).
