(ANSA-AP) - BUDAPEST, 15 MAR - Hungary's prime minister says
his people want new leaders for Europe and a "fresh start" to
halt the continent's decline.
Looking ahead to May's European Parliament elections, Viktor
Orban said Friday that "there will be no free life in Europe"
without Christian culture. He says he is proud of Hungary's role
in stopping "the migrant invasion" of the continent.
In 2015, Hungary built fences on its southern borders to
divert the migrant flow. Orban was speaking a few days before
Europe's main center-right group, the European People's Party,
meets to debate the possible suspension or expulsion of Orban's
ruling Fidesz party. Some EPP members say Orban has strayed from
Christian Democratic values with his anti-immigration,
anti-European Union rhetoric and autocratic style. (ANSA-AP).
