Italian FM in Trieste 19/12, focus on Adriatic economic zone
With Croatian and Slovenian counterparts
18 December, 15:24During a recent visit to Zagreb, Di Maio had said that ''Italy is preparing regulations to proclaim the exclusive economic zone of the Adriatic. He said at that time that it is ''a step that our Croatian friends are also taking with the aim of securing the highest possible protection of the Adriatic Sea.'' At that time, during a conference with Gordan Grlic Radman, Di Maio had said that it had been decided to ''start talks as soon as possible for the maritime border agreement between our countries, which will help to strengthen our partnership''. Slovenia is also expected to take part in the Trieste meeting. The drawing of maritime borders in these areas will make it possible for each state to have a specific part of the sea exclusively for their use. (ANSA).
