10 June, 11:31The total number of fatalities in the region is 15.595 (+105), out of which 8711 registered in Germany, 1334 in Romania, 1166 in Poland, 810 in Ukraine 672 in Austria, 548 in Hungary, 359 in Moldova, 328 in Czechia, , 276 in Belarus, 250 in Serbia.
Most of cases of COVID-19 in the area were registered in Germany (184543, +350 in the last 24 hours), followed by Belarus (49453, +823), Ukraine (27856, +394), Poland (27160, +599), Romania (20604, +125), Austria (16889, +21), Serbia (11896, +73), Moldova (9807, +107) and Czechia (9697, +69). In Slovenia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania and in the Western Balkans (Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Albania) 47786 confirmed cases and 2349 deaths were registered as of June 9.
In Central- and Eastern Europe, Belarus has registered about 5210 cases of COVID-19 per million inhabitants, compared to 3890 in Italy, followed by Moldova (3657) and Germany (2219), while the lowest rate was observed in Greece (283 per million) and Slovakia (281 per million), according to a count by ANSA based on WHO data. In the region, Moldova has registered the highest number of deaths per one million population in the region (134), followed by Germany (105), Austria (75), North Macedonia (75) and Romania (69), Slovakia the lowest (5). Italy has recorded around 562 deaths per million inhabitants.
Between June 1 and June 8, the highest weekly increase of confirmed cases was observed in North Macedonia (+36,0%), Moldova (+17,6%), Ukraine (+14,4%) and Belarus (+14,3%). In Czechia, Estonia, Serbia, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Austria, Germany, Greece, Slovenia, Slovakia, Croatia and Montenegro the weekly increase of new cases is between 5% and zero. (ANSA).
