(ANSA) - BERLIN, JUNE 25 - Germany's transport minister
announced that he would take legal measures against Austria in
relation to the traffic limitation decided in Tyrol. Austria's
measure is "deeply discriminating", according to the German
minister, and for this reason, he said, "I have initiated all
the procedures to file an appeal", Sueddeutsche Zeitung reported
today. The president of the Tyrol regional council Guenther
Platter accused Germany of a "political campaign". Tyrol planned
to prohibit road traffic on the side roads of the Brenner
motorway every weekend until the end of September, in order to
protect neighboring villages from the traffic jam and prevent
drivers from avoiding payment of motorway tolls, the German
daily newspaper reported. (ANSA).
