Talks between NATO and Ukraine in Oslo
Thursday are a further step in the possible accession of the
Eastern European country into the transatlantic military
alliance, Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani
said after a NATO ministerial meeting in the Norwegian capital
Thursday.
"Today we have recorded everyone's commitment to continue to
support Ukraine with great strength, and we have talked about
its possible future membership of the Atlantic Alliance: for
Italy an important step, before setting a date for membership,
is to set up the NATO-Ukraine Council, so that we can strengthen
cooperation and thus make Ukraine feel part of a strategy".
