Hillary Clinton became the
official Democratic presidential candidate in November elections
after accepting the nomination at the close of the party's
national convention in Philadelphia on Thursday.
"It is with humility, determination and boundless
confidence in America's promise that I accept your nomination
for president of the United States," said the former first lady
and ex secretary of state, adding that she would be the
president "for all Americans".
Clinton, the first female presidential nominee in the
history of the United States, will race against Republican
candidate Donald Trump.
She also reached out to supporters of her main rival in the
Democratic primaries, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.
"Your cause is our cause. Our country needs your ideas,
energy and passion," she said.
