(ANSA) - Florence, December 1 -Florence is set to host the
third edition of the Italo-German Economic Forum on December 3,
which will focus this year on cooperation between schools and
companies to prepare young people to be more competitive in the
workplace.
Organised by the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Germany
and Florence's Chamber of Commerce, the event will be attended
by Education Minister Stefania Giannini and Germany's Ambassador
to Italy Susanne M. Wasum-Rainer.
While systems of in-company training have been
well-established in German schools for the past half-century,
the idea is relatively new in Italy. Premier Matteo Renzi's
recently approved "Good School" reform aims to change this and
connect schools more with working environments.
In the school year 2015/2016, more than 100 students from
13 schools in Florence will take part in company training
programmes as part of a project in the Florentine area.
