Foreign Minister Paolo
Gentiloni said Tuesday that "Italy remains convinced that the
Atlantic Alliance is the basis of our unity and our political
relations, but dialogue with Russia is today indispensable to
manage crises (like Syria) and a year ago we were almost the
only ones to argue this".
Gentiloni was answering a question on whether NATO had
shifted position with respect to the tough tones used after the
Ukraine crisis.
