Pope Francis issued another
plea for refugees in the Georgian capital Friday.
"I hope those in positions of public responsibility will
continue to hold (the refugees') situation dear and commit to
seeking concrete solutions, unresolved political issues
notwithstanding," Francis said.
"May each and every one be able to make the most of their
specific gifts, with the possibility of living in peace in their
homeland first and foremost, or to be able to freely return if,
for some reason, they have been forced to abandon it".
"It takes courage and farsightedness to recognize the
authentic wellbeing of the people and to pursue it with
determination and prudence," the pontiff said.
"It is crucial to keep the suffering of the people ever
before our eyes in the patient and arduous - but also liberating
and compelling... pursuit of peace".
