The February 12 meeting at
Havana Airport between Pope Francis and Russian Orthodox
Patriarch Kirill will be "an historic meeting" but will not have
any "political" significance, patriarchate spokesman Aleksandr
Volkov said in Moscow Tuesday.
Volkov said it was historic because "it marks a new step in
dialogue and the development of our relations". But he stressed
it "is a meeting between two religious leaders and therefore it
makes no sense to see any political significance in it".
