Roman Catholics visiting
Rome for the special Jubilee will receive special 'pilgrims'
plaques,' (Testimonium) that are official replicas of a historic
document stored in the Vatican Archives and Apostolic Library,
officials said Monday.
The new plaques will be presented Wednesday in the Church
of Saints Bartholomew and Alexander Bergameschi in Rome by
Cardinal Raffaele Farina, the president of the Pontifical
Commission in charge of the Vatican Bank (IOR), and Monsignor
Jean-Louis Brugues, a Church archivist and librarian.
The Vatican Library said in a statement that the replica is
"an exceptional official product created for the Jubilee of
Mercy, becoming again today a symbol of the Christian spiritual
tradition and a precious souvenir of the pilgrimage to Rome".
