Mariella Enoc, the president
of the foundation of Rome children's hospital Bambino Gesù, said
Thursday that the organisation may sue if revelations in the
Vatileaks 2 scandal turn out to be true.
"If the documents say that something has been taken from
us, we'll ask for damages, not just economic ones but also for
the moral damage (in image terms) that the hospital has
suffered," she told reporters.
"Problems have emerged, we are addressing them with great
determination with the Holy See".
Enoc is part of the new Bambino Gesù Foundation board that
was appointed this month amid allegations in a book at the
centre of the Vatileaks 2 scandal that it paid for expensive
renovations for the apartment of Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, the
former Vatican Secretary of State.
The paediatric hospital operates in the Italian national
health system but is owned and administered by the Holy See.
