The official hymn of the
Vatican's Jubilee year was released on YouTube Thursday.
It opens with the Latin words "Misericordes sicut Pater",
which is the motto of the Jubilee, "Merciful was the Father,"
from the Gospel according to St. Luke.
The authors of the music, English composer Paul Inwood and
Jesuit Fr. Eugenio Costa, have donated all proceeds from the
rights to the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New
Evangelisation, Vatican Radio said.
The recording was made at the Pontifical Musical Chapel,
directed by the maestro Mons. Massimo Palombella, curated by
Vatican Radio.
