Pope Francis will visit Ecuador's second city, Guayaquil, on the second day of his tour of South America on Monday before returning to the capital Quito to meet President Rafael Correa.
The Argentine pontiff was greeted by huge crowds after landing in Quito on Sunday to kick-out an eight-day trip that will also take in Bolivia and Paraguay.
On Monday he will celebrate Mass in Guayaquil, a port that looks out on the Pacific, in the Los Samanes park and will have lunch with a Jesuit community.
In the afternoon he will return to Quito to meet Correa in the presidential palace and visit the capital's cathedral.
