The Vatican will publish a
tourist guide entirely in Arab titled The Vatican, its Meanings
and its Monuments, sources said Tuesday.
The book published by Libreria Editrice Vaticana (Lev) is
authored by Archbishop Edmond Farhat, a papal nuncio or
ambassador who is originally from Lebanon.
Its cover will feature a photo of Pope Francis on his white
jeep among the crowds in St Peter's Square, the publishers said.
"The books will be a guide for the thousands of
Arab-speaking tourists who visit the Vatican every day," a Lev
spokesperson said.
The book launch takes place Wednesday May 20 at the
Patristico Augustinianum Institute in Rome.
Participants will include Cardinale Leonardo Sandri,
prefect of the Congregation for Eastern Churches, Lebanese
Ambassador to the Vatican Georges El-Khoury, and Egyptian
Ambassador to the Vatican Wafaa Bassim.
