Division among Christians
is a sin, Pope Francis warned Wednesday during his weekly
general audience in St. Peter's Square.
"Sins against unity among Christians are the work of the
devil," Francis told some 12,000 faithful.
These include historical divisions such as religious
schisms that led to wars, but also local, parochial divisions
fed by envy, jealousy, and gossip, said the pope.
"The devil is he who separates, ruins relationships and
insinuates prejudice," said the pontiff.
The pope travelled during the summer, including a recent
trip to South Korea, which meant some of his regular Wednesday
general audiences were cancelled.
Two other audiences were held indoors in the Vatican's Paul
VI Hall. http://popefrancisnewsapp.com/
