Sebastian Vettel said Sunday's
Japanese Grand Prix where he placed sixth to fall 67 points
behind Lewis Hamilton with four races to go had been a
"disaster".
Ferrari ace Vettel started in sixth place but soon rose to
fourth before shunting Max Verstappen's Red Bull and dropping to
the back of the pack.
He recovered to sixth by the end but Mercedes' four-time
world champ Hamilton won the race to get within sight of the
winning line for his fifth title.
Vettel tried to sound optimistic, saying "there are a lot of
races in which we can improve this season and next" but the
hopes of the German four-time world champ are all but dashed for
this year.
