President Carlo Tavecchio does not intend to quit after the
national team's shock failure to qualify for next year's World
Cup, Damiano Tommasi, the head of the Italian Professional
Footballers's Association, said on Wednesday.
"Carlo Tavecchio informed us that he does not intend to
resign," Tommasi said after leaving a crisis meeting of the FIGC
early on Wednesday.
"We think that it is not possible to not start over with new
(federation) elections.
"There may be a federation council meeting soon to take a
decision".
