A sexism row hit the group draw
for the next Gen ATP event in Milan after models were used
instead of pots A and B.
Instead of picking a letter out of the pot, the world's eight
best under-21 players instead chose a model walking down a
catwalk, who then revealed either and A or a B on their back or
thigh.
French former world no.1 and Andy Murray's ex-coach Amelie
Mauresmo called the draw a "disgrace".
The ATP and sponsor Red Bull voiced a "deep apology" for the
draw, saying their intention had been to draw on Milan's great
heritage as a fashion capital but the way it had been organised,
"the event was in bad taste and unacceptable".
They apologised profusely and said there would be no
repetition of "anything similar".
