Serie A leaders Juventus
thrashed Sampdoria 4-1 on Wednesday, while second-placed AS Roma
kept up the chase by coming from behind to win 3-1 at Sassuolo.
Juve bounced back from Saturday's 1-0 defeat at AC Milan
thanks to goals by Mario Mandzukic and Miralem Pjanic and a rare
double by Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini.
Juve have 24 points from 10 games, while Roma have 22
after a brace by in-form Bosnia forward Edin Dzeko and a tap-in
by Radja Nainggolan.
Napoli are third with 20 points thanks to a 2-0 win over
Empoli.
AC Milan have dropped back to fourth with 19 points
following a 3-0 drubbing at Genoa on Tuesday.
Lazio are one point further back in fifth, having thrashed
Cagliari 4-1.
Mauro Icardi scored twice to give Inter Milan a 2-1
victory over Torino and earn some respite for under-fire Dutch
coach Frank De Boer.
The win enabled Inter to climb to 10th with 14 points.
