A 22-million-euro deal to
take Axel Witsel from Zenit St Petersburg to Juventus fell
through at the last minute, the Turin giants said as the summer
transfer window closed Wednesday night.
Sources said Juve might aim to pick up the Belgium
midfielder more cheaply when his contract in Russia expires next
summer.
The deal's failure means that Brazil midfielder Hernanes
stays in Turin.
