"step aside" if the bid succeeds. "I'll step aside, organising
(a Games) is different from bidding," the former Ferrari and
Fiat chairman, who is currently non-executive chairman of
Alitalia, told La Repubblica daily. The bid faces opposition
from Rome Mayor Virginia Raggi, who is expected to decide
whether to reverse her stance after talks with Italian Olympic
Committee (CONI) chief Giovanni Malagò next month. More than
half of Romans are in favour of hosting the Olympics for the
second time since 1960, a poll out Tuesday showed.
