Daniele De Rossi returned to
training with his Italy team mates on Friday, ANSA sources said,
spurring hopes the midfielder may be able to play in Saturday's
Euro 2016 quarter-final against world champions Germany.
De Rossi has been undergoing treatment after straining his
thigh in Monday's 2-0 win over holders Spain.
Later on Friday Antonio Conte's men will move from their
base in Montpellier to Bordeaux, where the match against Germany
will take place.
Conte will have to rejig his midfield if De Rossi is not
fit, as his usual understudy in the centre of pitch, Thiago
Motta, is suspended.
Winger Antonio Candreva is still training separately from
the rest of the squad because of a pulled hamstring he suffered
in Italy's 1-0 win over Sweden in the group stage.
The Azzurri are in high spirits after beating Spain and
finishing top of their group with the help of a 2-0 victory over
highly fancied Belgium.
