AS Roma coach Luciano Spalletti said Tuesday that everything was fine between him and captain Francesco Totti following reports of a big row after Sunday's 3-3 draw at Atalanta. "We have cleared things up. Everything is sorted," Spalletti told a news conference before Wednesday's home game against Torino. "This situation will not distract us".He added that his comments playing down the importance of Totti's late equaliser against Atalanta were made "because it does not seem right to say that Roma is just one player".
Relations between Totti, who is approaching the end of his career, and Spalletti have been strained after the latter replaced Rudi Garcia in January to embark on his second stint in charge of the three-time Italian champions. "I probably have not played Totti much, but I keep him in consideration," Spalletti said. "He's been put in a position to use his class".
