Juventus go into Serie A's
Christmas break three points clear at the top of the table after
second-placed AS Roma were held 0-0 at home by AC Milan on
Saturday.
The Turin giants, who are bidding for a fourth consecutive
Serie A title, extended their lead thanks to a 3-1 win at
Cagliari on Thursday.
Unlike the rest of the Italian top flight, Juventus have
not started their Christmas holidays yet as they face Napoli in
the Italian Super Cup later on Monday in Doha.
Napoli are joint third after beating bottom side Parma 2-0
on Thursday.
They share second place on 27 points with Sampdoria, who
drew 2-2 with Udinese on Sunday, and Lazio, who were held at
Inter by the same scoreline after wasting a two-goal lead.
This year the Super Cup between the Serie A champions and
the Italian Cup winners has been moved from its usual slot in
the summer before the beginning of the season, to the start the
top flight's Christmas break.
