Swiss police failed to stop
an attack by Napoli fans on their team's coach after a 2-0
defeat at Young Boys in the Europa League in Bern Thursday
night, the Italian club said Friday.
"There was just one Swiss police car, from which the
agents did not get out but which, instead, drove on when the bus
was attacked," Napoli sources told ANSA.
Angry ultras swarmed around the team bus, hitting it with
iron bars and clubs while shouting abuse at manager Rafa
Benitez.
Young Boys and Napoli are now level on six points after
three games with the Italian side winning its opening two
matches.
While doing OK in Europe, Napoli are having a poorer time
in Serie A, lying seventh after six games.
