Juventus great Alessandro Del
Piero will play in the Indian Super League (ISL) from October to
December, the Times of India said Thursday.
Del Piero, 39, said earlier this month after a stint as a
Sky TV World Cup pundit, that he had one more season in him.
He announced in April that his two-year stint with Sydney
FC was over.
Luis Garcia, Joan Capedevilla and David James are among the
other former stars to sign on for the League, aimed at
popularising soccer in India.
"I still have to decide what's best for me, but I want to
continue," he said.
"It's my passion. I know I won't be able to continue until
I'm 90, but I think I'm fit enough for another season".
Del Piero, who helped Italy win the 2006 World Cup, joined
Sydney in 2012 after a glorious 19-year stint at Juventus.
He played well in Australia, scoring 24 goals in 48
appearances, but Sydney did not achieve success despite his
efforts.
They failed to reach the A-League playoffs last season and
were knocked out in the first elimination round this year.
