Italian Claudio Ranieri has been
named the new coach of Greece, the nation's soccer federation
announced on Friday.
The much-travelled 62-year-old replaces Portuguese Fernando
Santos, who led Greece to the last 16 of the 2014 World Cup in
Brazil.
Ranieri, whose former clubs include Valencia, Chelsea, AS
Roma, Juventus and Inter Milan, has signed a two-year contract.
His last job was at Monaco, whom he led to promotion to
Ligue 1 and second-place finish on their return to the French
top flight in last season, before being sacked.
