Premier Giorgia Meloni on Friday
expressed satisfaction at the European Council extending State
aid for agriculture at the end of this week's EU summit in
Brussels, saying Italy had pushed for this.
"We started out with a text with concrete measures on the issues
of the simplification of agricultural policies and the common
fight against (unfair) competition that already had the
all-clear from us," Meloni told reporters.
"The reference to the extension of State aid is important for us
and this reference entered the (summit) conclusions thanks to
our impulse and I consider it a very important step forward".
